Who should attend this course?
This course is perfect for beginners as we start with the basics and then work our way up from there. It is a hands-on practical course that will teach you how to design exquisite flower arrangements for weddings (or other events).

Why do we call it the floral “bootcamp” course?

This is an intense and fast paced course where you will learn many things in just three (3) days. But of cause we are not referring to fitness training, but learning how to do wedding flowers in just 3 days.
If you prefer slower learning, then our 4 month or 12 month Online Part-Time Course might be a better pace for you.
What will you learn:
If you are an absolute beginner, this course is perfect for you. We start with the basics and from there work our way up. This course is also open to anyone who wants to improve their design work or boost their design confidence.
Course content:
- Introductory to floral design principles theory.
- Introduction to flowers & how to choose flowers for a wedding.
- Introduction to the tools, supplies & mechanics.
- We take you through the 5 steps on how to start your own wedding floral business (optional – if you are not starting a business, just enjoy the extra information).
- How to work with wedding clients.
- Wedding centerpiece flowers & decor design approach.
- Creating a wedding guest table flower arrangement (each student will make their own under Tangerine’s guidance – yours to take home at the end of the course).
- Understanding how to decide on style & flowers for the bridal party.
- Creating a Bridal Bouquet. (each student will make their own under Tangerine’s guidance – yours to take home at the end of the course).
- Creating Buttonholes, Shoulder Corsages & Wrist Corsages (each student will make their own under Tangerine’s guidance – yours to take home at the end of the course).
- Overview of ceremony flowers and why you should add that to the services you offer.
- We delve into floral installations & together will create at least one installation.
- Other topics we will touch on is pricing, costing, branding, marketing and quoting for wedding flowers to ensure that your business is profitable.
IMPORTANT NOTE: We will be contacting each attendee to establish floral preferences before we decide on what flowers, colour palette and styling will be using for this course. When & where:
Date: 12, 13 & 14 July 2023 – every day from 09:00 till 17:00
This is an in-person course, you will need to attend in-person every day from 09:00 till 16:30 daily.
Want to attend later in the year: We will run this course again 11, 12 & 13 October 2023.
Venue: We hire a close to OR Tambo when we have less than 5 students – and we hire a venue in Centurion for groups of 10 – 20 students. We will share the directions and full address with you as soon as the group size for this course is established. Holding back your booking to wait to hear where the venue is could result in you loosing out on a seat at this course. Please do book early to avoid disappointment.

Entry requirements:
There are no entry requirements for this course – this course is perfect for beginners or anyone who wants to learn to do wedding flowers or expand their knowledge or gain more practical experience.
The following attributes will be an advantage, but not a requirement: Creativity (i.e. being a creative person), computer literacy, social media proficiency.

We would like to have 15 to 20 students for this particular course, but we are also happy to run this course for a micro group of 3 to 5 students – keeping it small to ensure you get quality learning.
